Edgewater North Neighbors By-Laws
(Revised July 2013)

ARTICLE 1 – NAME
The name of the organization shall be Edgewater North Neighbors (ENN).

ARTICLE II – BOUNDARIES
Edgewater North Neighbors boundaries shall be, in the city of Chicago, in the Community of Edgewater, bordering on the South side of Devon, the North side of Granville, West side of Broadway and the East side of Glenwood.

ARTICLE III – PURPOSE
Edgewater North Neighbors shall be committed to the betterment of the residents within the boundary areas and the Community of Edgewater. ENN shall also be designed in such a way to address the problems of urban life, and shall carry out the activities that nurture a positive neighborhood spirit.
Edgewater North Neighbors shall be non-partisan, non-sectarian, and non-commercial.

ARTICLE IV – MEMBERSHIP
Any person who lives or owns residential property within the boundaries of ENN, who is at least 18 years of age and who has attended at least one prior meeting within a 12-month period shall be a member provided such person has paid the Annual Membership Fee. The annual membership fee shall be established by a majority vote of the general membership at a regular general membership meeting. It shall be the responsibility of the Treasurer to provide an accounting of membership fees to the membership.
The privilege of making motions, voting or both shall be confined to members.

ARTICLE V – BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Board of Directors shall consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and one representative from each side of the street for each block within the boundaries of ENN. The block representatives shall circulate notice of general membership meetings to all addresses within the ENN boundaries. The general election will be held at the November General Membership Meeting. Any member in good standing may volunteer to serve and must be elected by a majority of members present.

ARTICLE VI – MEETINGS
There shall be three (3) general membership meetings during a membership year, held on the second Tuesday of March, the third Tuesday of July and the second Tuesday of November.
The Board of Directors shall meet on the months not reserved for general membership meetings as deemed necessary. The Board reserves the right to change or schedule additional meetings as it deems necessary.

ARTICLE VI – AMENDMENTS
This document, upon the written request of 20 members, or upon the recommendation of the Board, may be altered by a 2/3 vote of its members at any general membership meeting. Written notice of the meeting and the alteration(s) are to be circulated by posting prior to the meeting.
